Sinlge to Multi UDIM

Hi Community, I had a mesh which had single udim in the start of the project i have worked on it for a while, with single udim asset texturing project, but then i realized single udim is not enough for that asset, is it possible to convert my regular project to a UDIM project?

Hello @mohanpugaz,

Yes, if you update the UV layout of the mesh for multiple UDIMs, you can create a new Asset Texturing project with the mode set to UDIM, then drag your original project into the layer stack of the new project to continue texturing the asset where you left off.

The steps are as follows:

  1. In the same package as the original project, import the updated mesh, or right click the original mesh in the Package Management panel and use the reimport options from the contextual menu.
  2. Create a new Asset Texturing project and change the project type to UDIM. See an article on this here.
  3. From the Package Management panel, drag the old Asset Texturing project into the layer stack of the new project. This will copy all of the layers, masks, and effects into the new project where you can continue to texture the asset.

If you have any questions or would like any further explanation, feel free to ask.

Thanks!
