Pass Through Blend Mode for Groups?

Hi again!

I was wondering: Does Instamat not have a pass through blend mode for groups in an Asset Texturing or Material Layering layer stack?

I somehow thought groups would be pass through by default, but now realized they seemingly are not? At least when I toss layers into a group/folder, their blend modes seemingly get affected.

Maybe I am overlooking something.

Layer groups have passthrough functionality, where the layers within the group composite with the layers below outside of the group. Groups make it so that you can then also control the final composition of the group.

Could you illustrate or explain the functionality you are looking for?

Thanks again for the reply.

What I meant is, the ability for a group to be prevented from influencing any containing layers’ blend modes inside it.

I think this was a misobservation on my end. It seems that indeed the groups in MAT behave like Passthrough when set to “Default”, leaving any containing Layers’ blend mode alone.
