EDIT: Never mind, it seems I was able to fix the problem. I tried a few things like activating and deactivating Windows Ink in the tablet settings, both for all programs and just for InstaMAT, but it didn’t seem to work. In the end a clean reinstall of the tablet drivers seemed to do the trick and now it is working.
Hello,
I started using InstaMAT a few days ago, so I am still very new at it, but I have to say I am really impressed with all of the features that it provides. I have been hesitating wether to subscribe to Substance Painter for the longest time, but after finding InstaMAT I don’t think I will ever need to anymore.
That being said, I was practicing with the Crate Template to get familiar with the interface, and I seem to be having problems with the software recognizing the pen pressure sensitivity from my tablet. As in, it’s not being recognized at all. While I’m very excited to learn about all of the procedural texture creating capabilities InstaMAT has to offer, I do a lot of stylized hand painted textures for characters and creatures, so I really do need the pressure sensitivity to work. I’m not exactly sure if there are other settings I need to turn on for it to work. I have changed the Size from Brush Dynamics to Pressure and I have tried moving the slider to any value between 0% and 100%, but I still get perfectly uniform lines when painting completely ignoring the pressure from my tablet.
The pressure sensitivity is working perfectly fine in any other software like Krita, Blender, ZBrush, etc. so I it’s definitely not an issue with the tablet itself.
These are the specs of my tablet and computer if that helps anything
Tablet: Huion Kamvas 22 Plus
PC: Windows 11 Home Version 24H2 Build 26100.4770
13th Gen Intel(R) Core™ i9-13900K (3.00 GHz)
64 GB DDR4 RAM
NVIDIA RTX 4070 Ti 12 GB DDR6 VRAM
InstaMAT 2025 v1.6
I would really appreciate any support I can get. Otherwise, I would have to just stick to Blender for handpainted texturing.
Thank you!
