The global seed option can help to generate a lot of variations of a given node tree. The issue is that it gets reset every time we open IMT again.
Justification
For this feature to be more than a preview necessitating and immediate bake of the graph or writing down of the seed in a comment somewhere in the file, it needs to get saved, embedded into the graph and not carry over to other open canvas graphs. Instead of it being fully singular and global, let it be a local seed override for any given graph.
Hello. So I ran into the issue again. I was doing look-dev and resource gathering for a video presentation of a few-hundred-nodes-long material element graph and needed the seed to stay the same across various package loading and InstaMAT restarts over the course of two days. I had chosen a seed I used to preview the graph with and forgot to save it which meant a lot of frustration and almost a lot of wasted work.
I would like to suggest that the global seed slider in the top panel saves along with any given package/.imp file so that there is consistency and continuity between sessions.
