we are a indie team switching from Substance Painter to Instamat for our pipeline there are difficulties we faced like the cage creating process in be done manually compared to other softwares also , Thre is no option for explode baking like in marmoset , I don’t Know this possible just a polite request if you are able to pull it please Update it
Hello @JeySurya,
You can provide a custom cage when baking in the Cage Mesh
section of the Mesh Baking panel.
In addition, you can also change the Targeting Mode
from All Source Meshes
to By Mesh Name
under the Advanced Settings
section. This will selectively target sets of meshes based on the names of the source and target submeshes using the suffixes “_high” and “_low”. This will avoid baking incorrect source geometry and prevents baking artifacts. It also removes the need to explode meshes when baking.
You can find more about this workflow on the Mesh Baking documentation article here.
If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out.
Thanks!
I thought it like a auto cage creating like in painter and toolbag
