I tried runnig instamat via distrobox running Rocky 9 linux. With that i made it open the aplication but i have a problem where the canvas doesnt register middle mouse button (pan or zoom). After that tried via VM Nobara and Rocky and it didnt even want to start the app. So i ask if any one is using the linux version and how so?
Hello NikolaN,
Rocky Linux uses the Wayland display server by default, which is known to have some limitations with Qt when it comes to mouse interaction.
Please try the following steps at the login screen:
- Sign out of your user account.
- At the login screen, click on your username.
- Click the gear icon in the bottom-right corner.
- Select “Standard (X11 display server).”
Rocky Linux usually remembers this choice for future logins. After signing in with the selection, launch InstaMAT Studio and try zooming and panning in the Canvas.
I have only tested this on Rocky 8, so I’m not entirely sure if the “Standard (X11 display server)” option has the same name on Rocky 9.
Please let us know if this resolves the issue on your end.
