Issue/Bug: Curve brush snaps to invisible mesh sections

Hi there,

I guess I’ve found another bug in InstaMAT Studio 3.1. I use a character mesh that has several sections. Two of them are a long skirt and a belt. The skirt and the belt are two separate submeshes and have their own materials/sections. The belt is placed above on the skirt surface.

If I want to place a curve brush line on the skirt and hide the belt section first, the curve will still be placed on the belt, even if it is hidden. This is really annoying. Is there another way to hide sections to place curves on the visible only?

Another question: How do I create mirrored curves, please? Is there a checkbox to enable or disable mirrored painting for curves?

Example: You have a T-pose character and want to add seams on one side of the pants. The seams also have to be set on the other side. A mirror function would allow you to draw just one curve on one side.

Best regards from Germany, Chris

Hello @CWernerArt,

The team is aware of this behavior, and it will be addressed in the next update.

You can mirror a curve with the Mesh Mirror filter. An example of this is available in the InstaMAT Crate tutorial project. If you have any questions on this workflow, feel free to reach out.

Thanks!

Thank you.

But the ‘Mesh Mirror’ mirrors all layers below it, not just the curves, right?

EDIT: Sorry, please. I found the solution myself: I needed to drag the mesh mirror filter on top of the needed curves layer. Great!

Great! Yes you can use the Mesh Mirror filter on the curves layer itself. Glad you found the solution!

By the way: Mesh Mirror for groups would be great… It doesn’t work, yet

Thank you.

Oh? It’s mirroring the group in the tutorial project. Could you clarify?

@Pixby I’ve created a new Issue for better organisation. You’ll get detailed infos there:
